Hi, I’m Anna Founder of Majury Merchandising
With a self-confessed addiction to spreadsheets and a genuine love for finding the stories in your sales data
I studied fashion design and maths at A-level. Everyone thought I was mad. What could those two subjects possibly have in common?
Turns out, everything.
A week of work experience. One day in each department of a British fashion label. The moment I sat down with the merchandising team, something clicked. Product. Numbers. Strategy. All of it together, in one place. That was it for me. I'd found my calling.
The Corporate Years
That week of work experience was the start of twenty years in retail. I worked my way through some of the biggest names on the high street: Topshop, Warehouse, Accessorize and Childrensalon, across almost every category: womenswear, menswear, kidswear, clothing, non-clothing.
I learned that retail is relentless. No two seasons are ever the same. There's always a curveball: a supply chain crisis, an unexpected market shift, a competitor move you didn't see coming.
I became a fixer. A problem solver. Someone who could look at the numbers, read the story they were telling, and help a business find its footing when the ground shifted beneath it.
I got very good at it. But somewhere along the way, the balance tipped.
The turning point
The high-pressure world of big corporate retail: the meetings about meetings, the culture of mass production and over-consumption, had started to sit heavy with me. And then there was family. Two boys, a life I actually wanted to be present for.
Something had to give.
When voluntary redundancy came up, I knew it was time.
Why it matters
It was my husband who first said it, somewhere on a long car journey: "Why don't you go out on your own?"
What started as one day a week has grown into Majury Merchandising: a full-service retail consultancy built on one belief, that great merchandising shouldn't only be available to the big players.
I wanted to work with brands that were trying to do something different. Independent brands. Creative founders. People building something they genuinely believed in, not just turning a profit at any cost.
Because here's what I know: most independent retailers make buying decisions on instinct. They price based on a target margin rather than what a product is truly worth. They carry too much stock in the wrong places, and not enough in the right ones.
It genuinely doesn't have to be that hard. Numbers aren't the enemy. They're the story of your brand. And when you know how to read that story, everything changes. You stop firefighting. You start planning. You feel in control of where your money is going and confident about what comes next.
More profit doesn't always mean more sales. Some of the biggest wins I've delivered for clients have come not from growing turnover, but from cutting the right costs, pricing smarter, and buying with precision. That kind of insight can be genuinely life-changing for a small brand. And it can genuinely pay for itself.
What Majury Merchandising is today
Majury Merchandising provides independent fashion brands with the kind of strategic support that was once only available to the big players.
Think of it as your behind-the-scenes commercial partner: someone who knows your brand, cares about its success as much as you do, and rolls up their sleeves to get the work done.
I want you to feel relieved. Confident. Reassured that the right plans are in place, and that you have the right people around you to trade through whatever the market throws your way.
"Anna has been an absolute game-changer for our business. She's commercially sharp, detail-obsessed (in the best way), and brings real clarity to the numbers, turning data into actions that actually move the business forward. Our whole team recognises the impact she's having already, and we genuinely feel lucky to have her in our corner."- Conor, Founder – Cozy Crew Club
